#tdc1651 Introduce yourself in a language you do not speak

I chose Romanian for this activity. This activity felt strange at first because I was speaking words I did not know well. Also, English is my second language so I already ‘think’ in my first language and translate it to English so this felt a little too much. It helped me understand that tone and voice are important in communication. I also learned that audio can share feelings and meaning, even when people speak different languages.

#tdc4163 #ds106 What do you see in your mind’s eye when you listen to Camille Saint-Saëns’ Aquarium?

The music made me imagine water, fish, and soft lights moving underwater. I somehow also imagined the entrance to the Chamber of Secrets located in Moaning Myrtle’s bathroom at Hogwarts. The slow and calm sounds created a peaceful feeling while I listened. I imagined a calm beige coloured fish with huge fins calmly moving through the water. This activity showed me how music can tell a story and create pictures in your mind without using any actual image

Firstly, I would like to acknowledge how cool this is. This activity also gave voice to some of the thoughts in my head and somehow felt like I was being heard. This activity helped me think about how music can connect to colours and shapes. Different sounds made me imagine different movements and feelings. It was interesting to turn audio into something visual. I learned that using different senses together can make creative work more meaningful and memorable.
